Guitarist Extraordinaire Lou DiBello from Champaign-Urbana,
Illinois Lou DiBello is an experienced professional guitarist and guitar instructor. With over 15 years of professional playing under his belt, Lou is in a somewhat unique position as a working musician. With a full load of students (30-40 a week), a playing schedule of about 10-15 shows each month, and access to several great recording studios, Lou has been able to make, play and teach music for a living without gaining national recognition for his talents. Most recently, Lou has done soundtrack work for
Sony /Dreamcast, and is currently working on soundtrack music
for
Pro Wrestling promotions, both Chicago area and national.
An Honors graduate of
Musicians Institute in Hollywood CA., in 1989, Lou returned to his hometown six months after graduating to begin a successful run as lead guitarist for the well known regional acts Mistress and Blanche Talley. With Talley, Lou had the chance to play shows with artists like the
Black Crowes ,
Shotgun Messiah ,
Four Horsemen ,
Molly Hatchet ,
Foghat , and many others, and recorded a well recieved independantly produced album in 1992. Lou appeaeared in
Guitar World Magazines Hometown Hereos, and recorded his first solo album, "Pile Up", in 1994. The album garnered many good reviews. Also in 1994, Lou wrote and recorded Women Of The World, a tribute to
Olympic Gold Medalist
Bonnie Blair , also a central Illinois native.Lou's reputation continued to grow, and his student roster expanded as well. In the past several years Lou has gigged regularly in the downstate Illinois and Indiana area, recording music with a new solo project, Electric Sky. Electric Sky won the regional Z-Rock Battle Of The Bands, and opened shows for
Quiet Riot ,
38 Special .
LA Guns , and others. Staying busy with many different gigging projects, including a straight Chicago-style Blues act, and acoustic gigs, Lou has since 1995 been the leader of
ESP ,a true rock'n'roll band. Also, Lou has done countless hours of studio work, much of it at
Pogo Studio in Champaign, IL. E S P have recently released their first CD, and work regularly in the midwest regions of the
USA.
